What files can I use?

RafterSignal accepts PDF files (application/pdf), DOCX files (application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document), plain text files (text/plain), Markdown files (text/markdown), and JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images when the file MIME type matches the extension. Each document is limited to 5 MiB. HEIC and HEIF are not supported.

What does one comparison cover?

Accepted Answer

A comparison covers one original renovation agreement and one later change order. The later document can be a revised invoice or an additional-payment request. It is not a workflow for comparing multiple arbitrary documents at once.

What does the report analyze?

The report organizes document wording around scope, cost, and schedule. It separates verified facts from possible discrepancies, calls out missing details, suggests practical follow-up questions, and identifies matters that may need professional review.

How are sources referenced?

PDF citations use Page N. Image citations use Image N and include the exact source wording when it is available. DOCX and text inputs do not have page or image locators in the current extraction model, so their wording is reported without those locators.

What can prevent processing?

Accepted Answer

An unreadable or empty document can fail processing. Unsupported file types, mismatched MIME types, files over 5 MiB, and incomplete inputs without both documents are not successful processing paths. If processing fails, the workspace reports that state rather than presenting a completed comparison.

Question 6

What happens to my documents and reports?

Accepted Answer

The public sample uses illustrative documents and never uploads visitor files. Authenticated project documents and reports are account-owned. Deleting an account deletes app-owned projects and reports and attempts storage cleanup. RafterSignal does not publish a numeric retention period or promise more than that implemented behavior.

No. RafterSignal organizes document wording and follow-up questions so the next conversation can be more specific. It does not decide whether a charge, change, or safety matter is acceptable, and it is not legal, construction, financial, code, safety, or other professional advice.
